Portrait and books with the coat of arms of Queen Consort Marie Leszczyńska (1703 Trebnitz, Silesia 1768 Versailles), from the noble family of Leszczyński, married to Louis XV, King of France in 1725 Queen Consort Marie Leszczyńska (1703 Trebnitz, Silesia 1768 Versailles), from the noble house of Leszczyński, married Louis XV in 1725 and became Queen Consort of France. She and her husband had 10 children during the first 12 years of their marriage of which three died in infancy. Due to her numerous pregnancies her husband entered extra- marital relation ships with mistresses after the birth of their 7 th child in 1733. The most famous mistress of the king, Madame de Pompadour was introduced to the court in 1745 and she overshadowed the role of the Queen Consort. The Queen Consort was buried in the Basilica Cathedral of Saint Denis and her heart was buried in the church of Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours in Nancy.
